Office Hours and Appointments

We treat patients Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. In the summer we are in the office Monday through Thursday at the same hours on selected weeks in July and August. If you have an after hour emergency, please telephone us at 609-394-1670 and follow the instructions. We will return your call as soon as possible. When the office is closed for an extended length of time, due to a dental conference or vacation, there will always be several doctors made available to handle any dental emergency you may have.

An appointment is an agreement between our office and you. Our part calls for us to reserve office time for you. If you must reschedule an appointment, please extend us the courtesy of 48 hours notice, since changes in appointments affect other patients and our staff. We regret that we must assess a charge for failed appointments or cancellation with less than 24 hours notice.

Please keep us informed of any change in your name, address, telephone number or employment. Keep in mind, also that it is your responsibility to let us know about any changes in medical history, as well as any medication you are taking, since this may affect your treatment.

Financial Policy

When it comes to cost, none of us like surprises. Our policy is to tell you, in advance of any treatment, what your investment will be and make definite financial arrangement before we begin.

After your initial examination, diagnosis and consultation, we will review with you our recommended treatment plan and it's estimated cost. We also will offer alternatives and their costs.

Occasionally, we may modify the treatment plan and its estimated cost somewhat as therapy progresses. This happens only if additional treatment or changes become necessary. Usually, we will complete the specified procedures for the quoted fee. We ask only that you begin treatment within three months from the date of the presentation and complete treatment within a twelve month period so we may honor the quoted fee.

Dental Insurance

Dental insurance (which I prefer to call dental assistance) is a contract between your employer and a dental insurance company.  The benefits that you will receive are based on the terms of the contract that were negotiated between your employer and the dental insurance company and not your dental office.  The benefits that you receive from the dental insurance company for your current insurance plan have nothing at all to do with you or achieving a high quality complete result. 

Since more and more of our patients are covered by dental insurance, and many of the policies differ in requirements. To simplify the process for all of us, we've adopted the following procedures.

First, we expect our patients to take full responsibility for the payment of our fee. We will help you expedite reimbursement of your benefits, but we require you to take care of your account with us and have the carrier reimburse you.

Most dental insurance plans do not cover procedures deemed cosmetic. Fortunately certain cosmetic procedures are also preventive and functional. These may well be covered by your insurer.
