Crowns
Crowns, or "caps", are wonderful restorations that not only provide protection but enhance the beauty of teeth. Newer crowns are very natural looking and are virtually indistinguishable from surrounding teeth. In fact the porcelain materials used are quite translucent and this allows light to radiate through the crown creating a quite natural appearance. Whether it is protecting broken or chipped teeth, or improving the look of others, crowns are a great choice!
You may have seen people with dark lines around the gum line of their crowns, which made you hesitate getting the crowns you need. Those crowns were made with metal showing. We use no metal at the gum line. Which makes for beautiful, natural looking teeth.

Unattractive crowns because they're not shaped nice and the color doesn't match and the surface anatomy doesn't look real. Also, the gum line is uneven. New all porcelain crowns placed with correct contour and color, and a gum lift was done so the teeth would be the same length.

These are the same teeth as the previous pictures to show why people are afraid to get crowns. When crowns are made with metal under the porcelain or not done well, it creates a dark, unattractive area at the gum line. Notice the new all porcelain crowns look healthy and natural at the gum line.
